Todos Los Santos

November 1 is celebrated as Todos Los Santos, or All Saints Day, in the Philippines. The day is also known as Araw ng mga Patay, or Undas (day of the dead). Filipinos usually troop to the provinces during this day (which usually extends to the second day, which is All Souls Day) to pay homage to the dearly departed. Families would go to cemeteries to clean the tombs and offer flower, candles and food at the graves of their loved ones.

Those who cannot travel to the provinces usually would light candles at home and set aside food on the table, usually biko, sticky rice cake, as offering to the souls of those who passed away.
